My husband & I could not be more pleased with the instruction our child received from Allysa Packard. The focus on technique and overall health of the voice has been critical in their development as a singer. While we’ve seen an improvement in confidence overall, as more challenging roles and honors are coming their way! I’ve referred her other families to Allysa for both virtual and in-person lessons because she is an excellent teacher. -Shannon S., Parent

Allysa give me not only the tools to sing but the confidence to do it. She encourages me to sing even when I feel silly or embarrassed. Now I know that it’s ok to sing ugly sometimes, and that sometimes it’s even necessary on the road to singing well. I have seen a lot of growth and strength in my voice as a result of working with her. She has helped me discover my true voice.

Allysa Packard was my voice teacher for my junior and senior years of high school. Having never worked with a private instructor before, Allysa met me where I was, starting with my own personal goals: a basic understanding of music theory, aural skills, musical literacy, and to widen my range of repertoire. While most of our lesson was spent working on my vocal development and technique, working on my personal goals made me a more sophisticated musician. We worked on music theory, aural skills, and musical literacy that created a strong foundation for me as I navigate music school today. She offers a flexible and supportive teaching environment tailored specifically to each of her students. From practicing my skills in accurate rhythmic counting to challenging repertoire, Allysa pushed me out of my comfort zone, making me more confident to make bold choices as a performer. As a teacher, she wants you to grow and push yourself, but her constant care for her students is truly what sets her apart. I can say with confidence that by working with Allysa, she helped me receive acceptance into numerous music schools. She worked tirelessly to prepare me for the audition process, working on several different pieces at a time and practicing proper audition etiquette. The time I spent as Allysa’s student is what put me on a path for success and passion in music school.

When other parents were baking bread and learning to sew, I decided to take virtual voice lessons with Allysa Packard. Best decision ever. Taking lessons as an adult has helped me to see (and hear) what my range truly is, and to understand how to warm up properly. Allysa gave me strategies to control my breathing that I was especially grateful for when I was recovering from Covid! Her knowledge of musical theatre, religious music and opera is extensive and she continues to learn new techniques to keep lessons fun. It is refreshing as a parent to chisel out some time each week for music (and myself).
